| Bianca what was it like to act opposite Dom
Deluise?
Great. I’ve enjoyed his films and cooking shows, and to work with him and
watch him work was a lot of fun. He was also very kind to the people around him. If anyone asked him
for his autograph or to take a picture with him, he didn’t hesitate to give it to them.
How many people did they audition for your role?
I asked the director that question and he said that they auditioned 60
actresses for the role.
How were you feeling that day?
I was very relaxed. When I walked into the reception area, some of the
other actresses started to arrive and they were all shapes and sizes. And of course everyone was
checking each other.
What was the audition like?
I had no idea what they wanted and neither the director. Because the film
had a lot of comedy I let that part of me loose. I was having fun with the director. He asked me
“Bianca where are you from?”
Actors dread to be asked that question because you don’t want to put in a
box. So I answered: Beverly Hills” which is where I live. They laughed. Then he said : “Well,
before that?” “West Hollywood,” “ Before that?” ” New York,” “Before?”
“Europe.” Then he stopped and I said “Are you going to give up?” And he answered. “Bianca
we don’t know what we are looking for.” “We’ll figure it out.” I said “ I see that you
do a lot of accents, how about Swedish (which was not on my resume)?” “I don’t do blonde
accents. There are some of them outside.” They laughed “OK, do Italian then.” I did it, they
laughed more. “Now do it with a Russian accent.” They laughed even harder. Then I did some
improv. with the actor who was reading with me. They thank me and we exchanged good-byes. On my way
out I said to the director that I had fun and that he was really good. And the director said.
“Thank you.” and I said “not you, the actor.”
I didn’t hear anything for two weeks and I thought “Darn it, I should
have said the director was good not the actor.” But then the phone rang and I was hired.
Would you like to do more comedy?
Absolutely. I do have a somewhat sarcastic humor. Humor is a very delicate
thing. You are as funny as the person who is listening you. Which means if the person doesn’t get
the joke, forget about it. In general, in real life there are a lot of people who take themselves
very seriously. To me the most delicious people are the people who can laugh at themselves. I like
to find humor in everything and including making fun of myself as well
How was your interview with Dom Deluise?
Great! He has worked with everyone and has so many funny stories, and in
addition his parents were Italian Immigrants and his dad was a very temperamental man. So you stir
all of that up, you’ve got a bowl of soup. I don’t know why my metaphor about Dom has to do with
food, do you?

Bianca interviews author Charles Casillo |
You’ve had success in your acting career. What inspired you to have
your own talk show?
From a very early age, I have always loved to hear people tell their
stories. In High School, I belonged to the Journalism Dept. where I had my own poetry column and
also did interviews. If I hadn’t pursued my career as an actress, I probably would have become a
journalist. In general, people feel comfortable enough with me to reveal very personal things.
I’ve always been curious about people. Life’s complexity makes each journey a unique one.
Everyone has a story to tell. People around me saw the way others opened up to me, and they kept
saying “Bianca you’ve got to have your own talk show”.
When did you start to produce and host “The Bianca Rossini Show”?
One year ago. My show airs twice a week..
You’ve been successful as an actress. Where do you see that aspect of
your career going? Is acting still in your future?
I love acting, and it would be wonderful to do more rewarding acting work.
As an actress you are always at the mercy of some one else’s decision for what they need and when
they need it from you. My own talk show gave me an unique opportunity that fulfilled many of my
creative needs; such as hosting, producing, writing, set designing, directing, etc. For the first
time I feel that I have been utilizing pretty much all my abilities, as well as constantly learning.
As an actress who is always seeking out work; after some years the process begins to wear thin. But
in this new venue, I can exercise my full potential and even learn new ones.
What kind of response have you been getting?
Great. I receive a lot of good feed back through my email
biancashow@earthlink.net from both man and women. People are watching and enjoying the show.

Bianca and actor Dom Deluise |
How do you find your guests?
Through people I know, people I’ve worked with, publicists and sometimes
they approach me.
How important is for someone who is trying to get some exposure to be on
a talk show?
Very. Whether you are in show business, or another business that you want
the public to know about, than it is fundamental that you get on TV. I remember when I did a lead on
an episodic TV Show, and I sought out the talk show circuit to promote my performance; the first
they asked me was: “Have you done an interview on the air? Do you have a tape of it? They
generally won’t bring you in unless they can see how you interact with the host, etc. It doesn’t
matter how good an actor you are; if you don’t come across as an interesting guest - you won’t
be invited. For a lot of people, being on an independent talk show not only gives them tremendous
visibility, but it’s a great show piece of your presence as a guest, which might be just what you
need to get to the next level.
What topics do you cover?
Right now the shows are very eclectic. I have shows featuring the arts,
lifestyles, fashion, food, heath, and other surprises.
Do you prefer to tape your show in a studio or do you like to go on
location?
I would love to do it on location as well, but that requires a bigger
budget.
What is like to produce your own show?
A lot of work. I am doing the job of 10 people at this point. But I have
learned tremendously in such a short time, mostly because I have an incredible desire and
determination Bianca and to produce the best show possible.

Bianca Rossini and Dori Cayimmi |
What plans do you have for your show?
I would like to have a show in one of the networks or cable channels in
America, and also to see my show distributed to Latin and European markets.
How important is humor in the interview process?
I love humor, but the guest has to be willing to go that route. If the
guest has a fun attitude and they get the joke; then I fly with it.
You speak 5 languages, you were born in another country, you’ve
traveled quite a bit, and you have been performing from a very early age; there is a lot you can
bring as a host . What do you believe is the main element of a good host?
I think my background and experience in different fields help me to
connect, but that wouldn’t matter without a main element; that is you have to really want to
discover about who you are interviewing. In my case, I like to go beneath the surface to know more
intimately what the person is truly about.
What is your favorite pastime?
Watching people. Unfortunately LA does not have the kind of places you have
in New York, Paris, or Rio - packed with people and life 24 hours a day.
How do you keep in shape?
I love dancing. I recently discovered Pilates; I swim and sometimes I go
for a walk, which I enjoy specially when I do it on the beach.
In what way is LA special to you?
For the same reasons why I think the United States is a special and
incredible country. This is because of the opportunities that you have here that would be almost
non-existent somewhere else; the professionalism, the space, the immediacy in which you can get
things done, the possibility of realizing one’s dream, the abundance and I could go on and on. In
LA, life is perhaps more comfortable, not only because of the incredible weather we have here; but
you can get a lot done in a short period of time. LA is a great city to get your work done.
You are one of the few people I know in this business who doesn’t keep
giving excuses for why this or that is not happening. Why is that?
Show business is a very difficult career, but no one is forcing me to be in
this industry. I feel privileged to be able to pursue my dreams.

Bianca interviews Dr. Chugay |
You’ve had some very interesting famous names on your show, such as
Paul Mazursky and Hiro Yamagata and now Dom Deluise. Can you name some dream guests you would like
to interview?
Of course, like anyone else in the business, there are a lot of famous
people that I would like to interview. But I believe that everyone has a story to tell, famous or
not.
